I am Noreen Fraser and I have been a school Governor for nearly 30 years. I am committed to giving the children the very best education possible in the best possible surroundings. I am very proud of how Park View has evolved. It gives me great pleasure to know that the pupils in the school have the opportunity to reach their full potential. All of the staff play their part: the pupils' education and welfare is of paramount importance and the main focus. The Governors are dedicated and fully support the school in the direction in which we are going. They are very proactive and involved. It really is the case that the vision and ethos both the staff and governors all share is “Together We Grow Stronger”.

My name is Mrs Gladys Hobson. I have been a Governor at Park View School since 2013. I have lived in South Shields all my life and was educated at the local grammar school and college. I am married with a grown up family. My background is in Business Management and Administration, but I am now retired. I am a Link Governor for Business and Premises and the Vocational Centre.

For nearly eight years, Park View School has been a big part of my life — first as a parent, and now as a parent governor. I’ve experienced the school from both sides: the proud mum cheering her child on, and the governor working behind the scenes to help shape the future for all our students.
During my time here, I’ve taken part in everything from dressing up as Mrs Claus at Christmas Fundays to running the school tombola. These moments remind me how much joy, community spirit and togetherness fill our school. Beyond the fun, I’ve also seen the incredible dedication of our staff — their tireless commitment to giving every student the best possible start when they leave Park View.
I’ve watched the team turn challenges into opportunities, helping students transform their behaviour into something positive and productive. Many arrive unsure or reluctant, but with patience, consistency and care, our staff help them discover a love for learning and a sense of belonging. Seeing that change happen is one of the most rewarding parts of being involved in the school.
As a parent governor, I will continue to support our school, our staff and our students for as long as I can. I hope parents will keep working alongside us — together we can keep improving our students’ futures and make Park View an even stronger community.
